DRIFTING RUINS
By Jess Lanham
at Ramon’s Tailor

Jess Lanham’s solo show, Drifting Ruins, is an immersive installation with works uncovering abstract landscapes of human relics and detritus.
Jess hails from northern New Mexico and the influence of that magical landscape is clearly present in her work. This exhibit takes over the entire gallery of Ramon’s Tailor with subtly printed works on transparent fabrics. The effect transcends the simple observation of material form alone. In fact, the viewer is forced to take time to navigate in-between the hanging pieces – which yields a new kind of perception of space (and time?) and allows one to get lost in the blur of light, surface and edges.
